We have just a couple of cases of this delicious red Grenache from Cyril Marès' estate in the Costières de Nîmes. It really is the quintessence of his old vines, with yields restricted to concentrate the character of the vineyards into a very small quantity of grapes.
The resulting wine, aged for a year in old oak, has complex aromas of spicy bramble fruit as well as smoky, spicy hints, and on the palate it's smooth and focused in true Mas des Bressades style, with white pepper in the ripe tannins of the long finish.
The grapes are carefully trodden by foot before pressing.
