Further Details

Deep purple-red in the glass, this blend of Merlot (48%), Cabernet Sauvignon (35%), Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot has concentrated aromas of red fruits enhanced by notes of toasty oak from its twelve months in barrels from a variety of sources including Château Léoville Barton.

There is ample texture and careful balance that shows off warm, silky tannins without allowing them to dominate the fruit before a softly lingering and complex finish of secondary flavours.

Critical reaction to this second vintage under the direction of the Barton family has been encouraging:

Jancis Robinson 15.5/20
Tim Atkin 86/100
James Suckling 88/100
Wine Enthusiast 90/100
