Lovely damson-red colour and elegant nose of wild flowers, summer fruits, vanilla and spice. Lovely drinking, too, with open, generous bramble fruits, tea leaf and spice notes.
A concentrated, precise mid-palate and lengthy finish. Every suggestion that this will drink well until at least, say, 2017.
The stately Renaissance château is surrounded by the picturesque vineyard that yields this wine, and is planted with the traditional red grape varieties of Bordeaux: Merlot (60%), Cabernet Sauvignon (30%) and Cabernet Franc (10%), matching grapes to terroir to give a balance of fruit concentration, exuberance, structure and finesse.
